Inspiration: Throw Away 100 Things

I have this thing where I am constantly assessing the usefulness of everything. I tend to get rid of things quite often because they don’t have a clear purpose in my life or I am over them. On the one hand, I love to collect things but on the other hand, clutter makes me feel anxious and unsettled. I go through my closet every 3-4 months and get rid of things that were impulse-buys or that don’t fit anymore or that I just don’t wear, but I don’t expand my purging beyond my closet in most cases.

I stumbled across this post from Jess Lively’s blog about her challenge to herself to throw away 100 things and I immediately wanted to hop on board. There are always things lying around that I think I will use but really I need to send them along and I knew doing this challenge would give me the push I need to get rid of them. The term “throw away” is used very loosely because I am not actually planning to trash most of the things. I will be selling, giving away, and/or recycling as much as I can.

All in all, it was such a good challenge for me and it feels good to get rid of things especially when I can send them to new homes or donate them!

So here’s what I’m parting with:
